Happy Birthday, LouVata!

To my family:
This note is to say how very much your words of love, appreciation and encouragement meant to me in your love letters for my birthdays. As I've said since I was 5 years old, "I want my own chilluns". That was true then and will forever be true. Thanks again for your love and thanks to God for giving you all to me.
Love, Vata

"My Commitment As a Christian"

I’m a part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
I have the Holy Spirit power.
The dye has been cast.
I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made.
I am a disciple of His.
I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure.
I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, Smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, Mundane talking, cheap living and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, Promotions, plaudits or popularity.
I don’t have to be right, first recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded.
I now live by faith, lean on His Presence, walk by patience, Lift by prayer and labor by power.
My face is now set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, My road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, My Guide reliable, my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, or lured away, Turned back, deluded or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, Hesitate in the presence of the adversary, Negotiate at the table of the enemy, Ponder at the pool of popularity, or Meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won’t give up, shut up, let up, Until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, Paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ.
I must go till He comes, give till I drop, Preach till all know and work till He stops me.
And when He comes for His own, He will have no problems recognizing me --my banner will be clear.

Father's Day Letter To Wayne J

Yes, (J) :))

Dear Wayne,
I have been noticing something for a while, but recently gave it a lot of thought. You know when people marry into a family they become a part of that family to one degree or another. I have noticed over the years that when I introduce you to someone I don't always say "Loretta's husband" or "my niece's husband". Many times I say "my nephew". That's because I truly feel that way about you. I thought today was a good time to let you know how much you mean. In your case we didn't lose a niece, we gained a nephew. You are special and you are loved. Thank you for all you do for this family.

Happy Father's Day!

Quote

Quote of the Day
"I have accepted fear as a part of life, specifically the fear of change, the fear of the unknown. I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: Turn back, turn back; you'll die if you venture too far."

Quote From Abe Lin.coln

Quote of the Day
"We should be too big to take offense and too noble to give it."
– Abraham Lincoln

About Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln, the American president remembered as Honest Abe, is renowned for his strong leadership during the Civil War and for ending slavery in the United States. He was born in a Kentucky cabin in 1809. He taught himself law and passed the Illinois bar in 1837, the same year he first spoke out against slavery. The Southern states seceded in response to his election to the presidency in 1860. Lincoln was assassinated in 1865, mere days after General Robert E. Lee surrendered to end the war.
