In The News: Napa/Light The Night Walk!

http://napavalleyregister.com/news/local/boxer-thompson-and-techel-tour-napa-earthquake-damage/article_1c6472c7-f3b8-52e3-af82-2cd503f255df.html

Nick and I took part in Light The Night Walk to bring awareness to Leukemia/Lymphoma in Napa last night.  We saw a lot of the leftover damage from the earthquake.  Many of the buildings we passed by had damage, some historic buildings.  We walked over many cracks in the sidewalks made by the earthquake.  Some areas are still taped off.  Congressman Boxer told the LTN organizers it was good to see something positive happening in Napa after the devastation.

These 4 pics show parts of the twin towers from NYC.

One of the Leukemia/Lymphoma survivors campaigned to have parts of the twin towers placed in downtown Napa.  There are parts of both towers with a list of those lost in each.  In one pic I am standing near the list of First Responders lost in that Sep 11th tragedy.  On the left the glass covering that list shattered during the recent Napa earthquake.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ® (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer.  The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.  LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services for patients and their loved ones. Major LLS fundraising campaigns include Team In Training, Light The Night Walk, School & Youth, Man & Woman of the Year and Leukemia Cup Regatta.
