Message To Ursula!

Ursula,
Thank you for the beautiful card you sent to Chris and me recently. I have a bad habit of forgetting to give thanks for things. I don't  remember if I said thanks for the beautiful cups you sent to us last year. I use them daily and I always smile when I think of you. I enjoyed the pictures of you on the BG yesterday and I needed to tell you how much you mean to me and that I thank you and I love you.

To The Pitts Family!

Thanks to all of the children, grandkids and great grandkid for sharing Billie with me for the last 2 weeks.  She helped me through a difficult time.  She always makes me laugh even when things are tough.  Life is about family and the older I get, the more I realize that.  Be kind to each other and love each other.  Accept each other for who they are.  I love you all. Aunt Jean

Message From Sissy!

I would like to thank all of you for praying for

my granddaughter.  We loved her, but God

loved her more.  For I know she's in heaven.

All of you that sent cards, thank you.  My heart

was really touched and it made me feel good

that my family thought about me.  May God

bless and keep you and yours.

As I Remember It!

This is the first of a column that I hope to do on a monthly basis. My hope is that it will be informative, humorous and a place to go when you want to vent. I invite questions or comments from all. If I make a mistake on a fact, you are welcome to correct me. Just remember the title. We have such talent in our offspring that I encourage you to tell them about the column and ask them to participate. It may encourage them to read it and keep us updated. Rikki does a wonderful job of keeping us informed but we don't have information on some of the offspring and would like all to participate. I know there is something that we don't know and would love to hear about. Isaiah and Nick are in college and soon there will be others going away and we would love for them to keep the Bell Gram as one of their connections to what is happening back home. Until next month, may the wind be always at your back. Jean

Christmas Memories and Music! (Anika)

When we use to live on Packsaddle in Baytown and all I can really remember was a HUGE Christmas tree in the corner of the living room decorated very nice with TONS of lights and ornaments and sparkly ribbon wrapped around it. THen I saw ALL of those presents pouring from underneath it. Watching my dad and mom put more presents underneath the tree and them having no idea I was watching.(lol) All I remember is the joy, love, and happiness I saw in them while arranging the presents and the love and warmth I felt at that moment!

As for my favorite Christmas song I would have to say "Christmas time is here" by Alvin and the Chipmunks. Other than that "Silver Bells" has been a top favorite too.

Note From Jean To Pitts' Offspring

This is something that I have been thinking and today is a good time to say it--Billie's kids have always been so thoughtful. When I saw that Carlton sent Vata a birthday greeting, I just smiled and thought about how much I love him. Her birthday was 3 months ago and he still remembered to send it, It does not matter if it is late, he thought about her. Isn't he wonderful? They have always been thoughtful regarding their family and today I want to salute the Pitts offspring. Says a lot about their upbringing. Veronica, Carlton, Ursula and TT. I love you guys. Thank You From Charisse!

Thank You from the bottom of my Heart!
I wish you could all see how beautiful those flowers are.
The vase, the arrangement and everything.
That really meant a lot for you all to share in the celebration of this new season of my life.
I suppose if you all would come and visit
you may have the occasion to see the beautiful vase,
and partake of some good down home cooking!!!
Let me know if you want to take me up on this offer.
Thanks again it was much appreciated.
Love you all!!!
Charisse

Thoughts On The Election

When President Obama won, Chris, Rick, Kamasi and I were all watching. Kamasi was writing a report on the election that he had to turn in. As you know the Kendricks are very docile when it comes to celebrating. But the Bell in the house. Oh Well, I gave out a scream that my neighbors probably heard. My feeling were happiness, joy and a feeling of wanting to cry. It was one of those rare times when I was happy enough to cry. I mentioned to someone that he may be the Messiah. Well that was an overstatement. I really didn't mean that. [You all], but I felt happy for my race and the long hard struggle of my people. I have been in many situations where I was the only African American, but now I feel that I am really a part of the American Dream. I never felt it before. Thank God I saw it in my lifetime. I always say I lived in a wonderful time. I have seen the Bicentennial, the first space exploration, computers, cell phones, microwaves and now the first African American President. I would not choose a better time to live if I had the choice. [I wish Daddy had seen this day]. - Jean

I cried with joy and thanked God I was alive to see an African-American president. As I watched the reaction from the world I realized that this was much bigger than him just being black, this was HOPE. Asians cried. whites cried. Africans cried. I called my mom and said "Mommie, we lived to see a BLACK PRESIDENT!!!!!!! Then I thought about our ancestors that paved the way, died, beaten for this to be ordained. The kids in the white house are not Sally or Chelsea. It's Sasha and Malia. And our president isn't a George or Bob, it is BARACK HUSSAIN OBAMA!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
THIS HISTORICAL MOMENT WAS ORDAINED BY GOD-meant 2 b. - Carlton
