My dear Ursula. You are a source of pride for this family. You did it. There are not many young single women with your stamina, determination, patience or energy. We have a lot of sucesses in our family but little girl, you are a source to be reckoned with. From being single mom, taxi driver, cook, student, referee, housekeeper, worker, and everything else, you had the nerve to graduate with honors. I could not be more proud of you. Congratulations Sweetie. I love you more than you know. Aunt Jean

Ursula--
I am so proud of the woman that you have become (not that you haven't been thus far, but you know what I mean). I really need some time to think about everything that I want to say to you but for now....Girl you are a "DIVA" of your generation. It takes great stamina, perserverance, intelligence, maturity, patience, ambition, and passion to do all that you have done.

God bless you girl as you receive your reward for all of the hard work. I know that it has not been easy but you have reached a milestone. Something that you should be really proud of. You go girl!!!!! Wish I could be there. We will just have to celebrate when I come sometime this summer.

God bless you again as you seek to do His will in your life. It is by His grace, provision, and power that you have made this awesome accomplishment. Relish the moment and be proud because I surely am!!!!

Love you so much,

Charisse

Congratulations, Urs
I never could have imagined that I wouldn't be with you on a day such as today, but life throws us curves sometimes. You know that so well because you have been on some bumpy roads and treaded some stormy waters. Through all that you've gone through you've never adopted a defeatist mentality. From where I sit it seems you were motivated to make sure you gave your boys the right experiences to help mold them. I have shook my head many times thinking about your schedule. I was overwhelmed at times by one child's needs while you managed to work and raise four. After work, you had them each in sports and when they weren't practicing they were playing. When you weren't on the bench you were helping to coach. Then you helped with homework, made sure they had nutritious meals and completed the proper bed time rituals. I have talked to you in the middle of the night when you were ironing their outfits for the next day and after that you still had to fix the lunches. Since I'm on another coast and haven't seen you in quite sometime I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but I've been impressed through the phone lines. Now for the last few years you managed to add college classes to your schedule. It's difficult enough for a human to just go to school without the rest, but you did it all. It wasn't enough to just get it done. You had to do it with excellence. There's so much to say. There's no doubt about it. God's got His hand on you. I mean sometimes you school shopped for at least five and Nicholas knows who taught him how to dress :-). Wayne and I thank you for always remembering Nick. I happen to know he's not the only one. You think of all your cousins and always thoughtful to help them out with whatever they need, not mention your friends. As I've told you on more than one occasion I think you can do anything. I'm sure as I've always been that the Ursula Book is not nearly finished being written. My motto is "Just because it's difficult doesn't mean it's impossible". Well, you're a shining example of that one. I'm proud of you. I admire you and you might not see me in the audience, but as always, I'm with you. Love, Rikki

I just came from your graduation full of tears. I have never been so proud of you as I am today. As you marched in with your class I cried with all the other family and friends. Then I realized something- you are your parents' child. The determination of Billie and the hard work-ethics of Tommie has made you the woman you are today! congrats!!!!Love Carl

Ursula,

Today, Im really at a loss for words. Hearing all the other good wishes, and thinking about the few times I have been home to see it for myself, always thinking WOW, I dont know how she does this everyday. I get tired if I work 3 long days in a row, and you have worked 7 long days in a row for at least the last 8 or 9 yrs.

With that being said, your accomplishment is really nothing short of amazing, not that you were able to just go to school, teach, coach, cook, clean, practice and all that , but that you got good grades, you have honors, you have set that bar high for your kids and that is truly a blessing to them that they will not know for years to come.
Im so happy for you that the hard work and determination is paying off. Im proud of you for simply being you. I was proud of you before this degree because in spite of it all you have always found time to be a daughter, sister, niece, friend and sister to us all.
With 4 boys you always asked me if i wanted to spend the night, if you could cook for me and all that stuff. I cant imagine putting more on your plate than what u have from day to day. But there you go being Tommie's stubborn little girl and still being a good big sister to me. I love you, Im happy for you, Im proud of you.
I will definelty look to the celebration to give you a well deserved Hug.

Love T.T.

U did it!!! I know first hand what it takes to complete research papers, study for exams, group projects and class presentations and it is very challenging. However I can not image the challenge of trying to complete the above task, along with rasing 4boys 2 with chronic health issues. You mange to keep them grounded, active in sports, sunday school after school activities, and most importantly community service (shoveling snow for the elderly) and with all the responsibilites of motherhood you were able to maintain a 3.5 or higher. Only Mary and Tommie daughter could juggle your workload and maintain academic acheivement without complaint. You have accomplished what many people can only dream of....... Hopefully you can finally take an nap without interruption!!!!!
Ursula, appreciate your greatness, embrace your accomplishment, and never lose sight of your goals! I wish you great success as you contiue your journey!

Your very proud sister,
Roni

I am late and the family has stolen all of the things that I wanted to say so I will say that you are still beautiful and I am very proud of you. When I woke this morning this is what was on my heart about you:

“THOSE THAT YOU LOVE ONLY NEED TO BE IN YOUR PRESENCE TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE LOVED!”

That is a wonderful gift.

I LOVE YOU,

Uncle Wallace

Urs is the strongest woman I know, and frankly I'm not even surprised at the fact that she graduated despite all the adversity she faced. In saying that I'm not surprised does not mean that I am not impressed .The rigorous schedule that she maintained would have put normal mortal college moms into a catatonic state. Where ever she decides to work @ will be improved from day one. Whom ever that has ever been around her would know that as far as she would go to defend a wrong, pales in comparison to the lengths she would go for a family and or friend. You would be hard pressed to find another like her. So once again congratulations Urs, job well done.

Ursula,
This is the first time I noticed 2 people graduating in the same year.......
I do not know how you managed to juggle the boys, their activities, school work, and maintain good grades. I guess it takes an incredible person to be able successfully stay on top of everything. You proved that when you have your mind set on a certain goal you can do it. I am very very proud of you!!!!!!
Congratulations on a job well done!!
Love,
Dad
