Happy New Year!

2012 is behind us and God brought us through so much.  I want to wish all of you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.  Thanks for all that each of you add to the Bell Gram.  It is appreciated.
Since I have received positive feedback on the Health Moments and Random Photos I will try to do at least 3 per month.  I have a portable scanner and boxes and boxes of photos :)  Many of the old pics I post were supplied by Jean and Vata. I hope to receive more from more of you to share this year.  For birthdays this year I will return to celebrating only the birthday person on their page and in photos.  However, if you have a photo you want shared on your special day or your child's special day send it along and I'll be more than happy to post it. Also if you hear something or read something that you'd like to share in Health Moments, please pass it along.  You never know who you might be helping.  In this case, you might be helping a family member. :)  Your resources for info shared is encouraged. :)
I have been slacking on music and will try to get some posted at least 3 times per month.  If you hear a song you want to share or think of something you feel you can't keep just to yourself, let me know and I'll try to find it and post it.  You never know when you might lift a lowered spirit of a family member.  I've also been reminded that I need to start back posting ancestry info so I will get busy with that again.
If you have an idea for the BG that you feel would enhance it and make it more enjoyable, please pass that idea on to me. Just in case you had any doubts, I love you, family.:)  I want you to know.  Our physical lives are fragile.  We have to tend to the building not made by hand. Thanks for all of your continued support and prayers.
RIP Boazie. :(
Love, Rikki

Happy February!

Call out to all to recommend ideas for the BG. Let me know if you have a thought of something that would make it better. Also send info about immediate family doings. We really are interested in things that interest you. I'm presently doing research on a way to have a blog where you all will be able to comment without the need to register. It will take some work because when I set it up I will have to transfer everything from here. I think it will be worth it and believe you guys will comment more if you don't have to sign in to do so.
Don't forget there will be an appreciation program for Lawrence (Gobber) held at Mt. Sinai on Saturday, February 14th. This is also Valentine's Day!

President's Day is Monday, February 16th.

February is Black History Month. It's also Mardi Gras month. This year Mardi Gras starts on February 24th.

Following (Subscribing to) The Bell Gram

After getting Ken.an's email I thought I would take a few minutes to see how one would go about subscribing to the BG. I have added the "following" gadget at the upper right hand corner. It should make it easy to subscribe to the BG. I believe you still might need a google account in order to do so, but I'm not sure. It would be good for everyone to get a google account, anyway. When creating it, put in your regular screen name, then put in display name of your choice (something that will let us know who you are. You will use it each time you write a comment on any of the posts on the BG. I will provide the link to the page for getting a google account again in case you no longer have it. Good luck. There are lots of possibilities, I'm sure, but it will take me a while to learn them all. If you have a tip or idea you think will be helpful, please pass it on. It will be appreciated. Happy following!!

Tips For Friday!

Cooking Stuffed Turkey

The best temperature for cooking stuffed turkey is 325 degrees F. At lower temperatures, the stuffing doesn't get out of the danger zone of 40 degrees F to 140 degrees F, giving bacteria more time to multiply. Higher temperatures bring the turkey and stuffing to safer temperatures sooner, but may shorten the cooking time so that not all bacteria are killed. Slow overnight cooking, with the dressing in the bird causes numerous cases of food poisoning.
Tip from the book "Who Knew?" by Jeanne Bossolina Lubin and Bruce Lubin

If you have a tip to share or would like to comment on this one, please do so. Also please send me your family recipe for the holiday season. Thanks
