All previous advisory and mandatory evacuation orders remain in
place, including the Green Valley Area with road closures on Suisun
Valley Road, Green Valley Road, Mankas Corner Road and Abernathy Road. (

Cal Fire has issued an Evacuation Advisory for areas north of Jameson Canyon Road in both Napa and Solano Counties. (

In Solano County, the areas included are north of Jameson Canyon Road
from the Solano/Napa County Line to Interstate 80, North of Interstate
80 between Jameson Canyon Road and Suisun Valley Road, and West of
Suisun Valley Road between Interstate 80 and the Solano/Napa County

No evacuation orders impact the City of Suisun City.
FIRE STATUS:
Cal Fire is now directly involved in managing the Atlas Fire and the
Southern LNU Complex. Fire crews are increasingly shifting into full
fire fighting operations now that resident evacuations are in place and
the concern about immediate life safety has been reduced.
Crews are using bulldozers to cut wide vegetation breaks ahead of the
advancing flames to remove fuel and halt the fire’s progression.
Here’s the latest statistics from the Cal Fire update issued at 7 a.m. on Oct. 12:
- Atlas Fire is at 42,762 acres and 3% containment.
- The entire complex of fires is at 77,705 acres and 10% containment.
- 1,358 people are fighting the complex fire :
- 131 engines
- 17 water tenders
- 17 helicopters
- 8 air tankers
- 27 hand crews
- 15 dozers
SCHOOLS:
- All Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District campuses will be closed through Friday, Oct. 13, due to fire impacts. (See official announcement.)
- Solano Community College is closed on Wednesday, Oct. 11, due to fire impacts.
WEATHER:
- The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for north winds from 5 p.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday. (See official forecast.)
- The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch through
Saturday as another cold, dry front is expected in the area, which
could cause strong north winds. Take precautions to avoid smoke

Wild land fires are burning in the hills north of Suisun
City/Fairfield in unincorporated areas of Napa and Solano Counties. Cal
Fire is leading the fight to protect life, property and fire spread.
Suisun City Fire has sent an engine and a brush truck to assist in fire
fighting.

There has not been much change since this morning’s update. The fire remains very active, with occasional flare-ups, but has not grown significantly. According to Cal Fire, the most active flank of the fire is the northeast side burning toward Lake Berryessa. The southeastern flank of the fire is still west of Gordon Valley, well west of the City of Vacaville. The weather has cooperated with favorable winds throughout the day – this has allowed the Incident Management Team to deploy more firefighters to the fire line.
At a press conference by Solano County, Cal Fire indicated that more and more personnel are arriving to help with the firefighting efforts. In fact firefighters from throughout California, as well as firefighters from five other states – Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oregon – have come to assist with the firefighting efforts.
The smoke in Vacaville, from the fire, has been lighter today but that can change at a moment’s notice – based on fire behavior and weather. If you are sensitive to smoke or have any breathing related illnesses, please remain indoors to the extent possible. Keep you doors and windows closed. When you run your air conditioner, operate it in the “recirculating” mode to prevent outside air from coming inside. If you are driving, place your air conditioner in the “recirculating” mode to keep smoke out of the passenger areas.
The risk to the City of Vacaville, from the Atlas Fire, remains very low but please realize the fire is still very active and the situation can change. Maintain your situational awareness and continue to monitor legitimate media sources. At the Solano County press conference today, the Sheriff asked the residents of Mix Canyon and Pleasants Valley to remain ready in case there is a need for evacuation. There are NO evacuation orders in Vacaville or rural Vacaville at this time but that situation can change.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and we will continue to update you on a regular basis; as well as any time there is a significant change in the situation.
